Teacher Training Course in Treviso (Venice) - Italy
Regulations
The Suzuki Guitar Teacher Training Course organized by the Accademia Musicale “Studio Musica” in Treviso is intended for professional guitarists working in any context (conservatories, music schools, private academies, etc.).
The general objectives of the course are as follows:
• To understand the educational triangle - parent, teacher and student - developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, and how it can be applied in the guitar learning process.
• To understand and reflect on the role of the Suzuki teacher in order to improve lessons, student performance, and classroom behavior.
• To facilitate the learning process through a cross-disciplinary methodology.
• To understand the specific objectives of each stage of the learning process according to the Suzuki methodology.
• To learn and apply teaching resources that help achieve the specific goals of each section.
• To understand and analyze the structure of an individual lesson.
• To understand and analyze the structure of a group lesson.
The specific objectives of the course include:
• Understanding the parent's role in the learning process.
• Grasping the technical foundations and pedagogical principles associated with each piece of the Suzuki repertoire.
• Observing pedagogical strategies to address various technical or musical issues, and developing personal teaching resources.
• Practicing teaching (under the supervision of the teacher trainer) to identify one’s own weaknesses and enhance one’s strengths.
COURSE
The ESA (European Suzuki Association) Level 1 Teacher Training Course includes a broad range of topics designed to equip trainees with the necessary tools to understand and implement the educational approach developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. The course consists of approximately 100 hours of training, which include:
Study of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s philosophical concepts
Individual and group lessons
Instrument performance
Repertoire analysis
Basic elements of children’s psychological and educational development
Ensemble exercises
Research and deepening of didactic and organizational aspects of music education
Parental education: parents as home teachers
Supervised lessons with children
Study of medical and psychological aspects related to early-age memorization and learning
Observation of lessons taught by other instructors
At the conclusion of the 100 hours of training, participants may take an examination to become certified as Level 1 Teachers by the ESA. Upon passing the examination, participants will be authorized to use the title “Suzuki Guitar Teacher.” This qualification is recognized in all ESA member countries, including most European nations.

COURSE FEES
ESA/ISI Registration Fee: €80,00 (to be paid directly to ISI – Istituto Suzuki Italiano)
Course Fee: €1.600,00 (to be paid to the Accademia Musicale Studio Musica)
The course fee may be paid in four installments:
1st installment: €250,00 due by November 20, 2025
2nd installment: €500,00 due by January 10, 2026
3rd installment: €500,00 due by June 20, 2026
4th installment: €350,00 due by January 10, 2027
The final exam fee is not included in the above costs. It must be paid directly to ISI and is only required for those who, having achieved the necessary level of preparation, wish to sit the final examination.
PRELIMINARY INTERVIEW AND REGISTRATION
Interested individuals must attend a brief private preliminary interview (via video call) with the teacher trainer, aimed at assessing their musical and guitar proficiency. This may include the performance of a short piece or study of their choice from the early 19th-century repertoire, including didactic works.

All applicants will receive a confirmation email with admission details and banking information for payment of the ESA/ISI registration and the course fee.
Once registration is finalized, the participant commits to completing the course in its entirety and to paying the full course fee. Withdrawal from the course after its commencement does not exempt the participant from payment of the full amount.
Registration will remain open until all available spots have been filled.
